not all N80s have 1440x900, but newegg says that the N80Vn-A1 is WXGA+
provantage on the other hand lists it as 1280x800...
the nerds.net says that it also has 1440x900

asus says that the N80Vn's possible display types are

    14.1" WXGA LED backlight,Color-Shine (Glare-type)
    14.1" WXGA+ Color-Shine (Glare-type), (CCFL)

answer: i'm not entirely sure but i think newegg doesn't lie

My wife's Vostro 1400 has 1440x900 display and it is very nice for excel sheets and the like. So yes! :)

The WXGA+ 1440x900 on newegg's site should be a typo.

That's what I thought, but needed confirmation. So would it have the LED or CCFL? I think LED...

The F8 series offered a WXGA+ (14.1") and it took a couple weeks to get used to but now I don't think I would be happy with a WXGA on the same size screen.

However, LED is very tempting :)

why is it a typo, if you check on asus's website the N80vn is available in WXGA+

+ newegg isn't the only retailer listing that model as WXGA+

most of the sites though say that it is WXGA 1280x800

I would call them and say that it is likely that they may have a discreptancy in the specifications for that model. Then they will check it out.

I just chatted with a Newegg rep and they are going to find out what the rez is and if it is LED or not. They said it may take 2-3 business days for response though.

    On a 14 ft screen, it's too low. :p

I've been using my A8Js 14.1" 1440 x 900 for a while now and can't stand going any lower in this size. Extremely usable and love the extra space.

The N80Vn-A1 is a WXGA 1280 x 800 LED and that's that. I have Asus' most current spec sheet grid (dated today, 01/21/09) and it's the same today as it was two weeks ago. I have never seen mistakes on this sheet yet.

N80Vn-A1 was first released in Novemeber 2008 and equipped with 14.1" WXGA (1280 x 800) Color Shine LED Backlit Screen. Thanks!
