This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Am not going to purchase any new OS until Win7 rele;
    but would like to know if anyone has found any good deals on
    8GB (2 x 4GB)
    or any SSD drives.

    Why do you need 8GB of memory? Unless you are using programs that require it, you're throwing away money. If you do need it then most likely you will be able to justify $300+ on it. What is your budget for each of the upgrades? Check the SSD forum for some good recommendations.
