Hi all, this looks to be a great forum!

I bought an N90SV a little over a year ago and qualified for the Upgrade to Windows 7 program ASUS was running. They sent me the disks and when I did a complete wipe of my system and installed Win7 64bit I ran into two problems.

First was the audio drivers were terrible. Crackling, popping and hissing unless set to the lowest playback. That sucked.

Second was the bluetooth was a little quirky.

After two complete reformats, and trying to update the realtek drivers from the realtek website a few times, I gave up and reinstalled Vista 64 and everything worked again fine.

I am now considering upgrading the primary hard drive to an SSD and would like to have the TRIM support offered by Win7 but could someone confirm that the audio issues with Realtek have been fixed? I see they released some audio drivers this year so that makes me hopeful, but I would like to get confirmation of this before I go about reformatting this thing yet again.

Anyone know if there is a working bluetooth driver under Win7 also? I like using a bluetooth for teamspeak.

Thanks! I love this laptop. I don't game on it but use it for music and multimedia and it is great!

I searched, but I guess this isn't a popular model, and didn't find any answers.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Welcome to NBR!!

When updating your drivers no matter which component it is always best to download them directly from Asus.com the drivers there have been tested to work on the notebook and corresponding operating system.

I appreciate the input, but I guess I wasn't specific enough in my first post. I am an avid computer hobbyist. I build them in my spare time. I am familiar with drivers, updating the BIOS, loading O.S.'s and installing drivers.

ASUS for some unknown reason, took down their notebook forum. I have no idea why, so I found this place and it seems to be somewhat active.

I did check the ASUS support page, and the last audio driver is dated: 2009/09/17

That is the driver that was causing issues.

I looked at the RealTek website and the latest driver I see there (Under High Definition Driver) is: Vista, Windows7 Driver (32/64bits) Driver only (Executable file) Dated: 2011/1/28

So I was wondering, if anyone has the same notebook as I, or has another ASUS that uses the same Audio chipset that has used this driver under Win7 64 Bit and what their experience has been.

    Thanks!
