I would venture, look for a firewall, get RMClock (NHC is not Vista friendly yet). Those were my main things when I was at Vista. Though I could not find a free firewall and stuck it out with the Vista one until I went back to XP.

I've been recommending everyone who is going with Vista to create a new install disc using VLITE http://www.vlite.net. I recommend downloading all your drivers first so you can embed them into the install disc and most get installed automatically with Vista. It also lets you disable unnecessary features of Vista making it more streamlined -- it's on version 0.95 right now and 1.0 expects to bring bigger changes but as is, it's a handy tool.

Yes i know that and everything i just suggested still stands.

The video drivers from LV2G will work and will be newer. There are tweak vista guides on tweak town, spyware blaster adds a list of blocked cookies/website to IE7 which i am running and it works fine and I have seen CCleaner running in vista.

I should have mentioned tunexp allows you to defrag your boot files for faster startup but if you are iffy about installing that then dont.
