Ive been using my new w3v out of the house running on battery power recently, I've been trying to get the most run time i can from it.
I also use NHC, undervolted and set to max battery when its not plugged in but i have noticed something very weird, i get about almost 4hours from it when i turn the brightness down slightly but when it get to about 1 and a half hours left the machine starts to lag big time. videos are impossible to watch due to the audio becoming out of sync and slow frame rate and programs generally slow down and become non responsive.
When this happens if i set NHC from max battery to max performance or dynamic switching it works OK again.
but why does this happen when the battery reaches a certain stage?
from what i can see its defiantly something to do with NHC but it just seems weird.
Any ideas?????

Sounds like something that would happen with powerplay settings on an Ati machine, which yours is.
Check your Powerplay settings.
I doubt that's the problem though. Hrmm...
Really bizarre. Sorry I have no answer for you and I've thought about it.
Wait, maybe you're undervolting too much? If you could post your voltage settings and your CPU information that'd be great. -
I have a 1.8 mhz and i undervolt at 800mhz to 0.732, I do have power play set up to have battery when running on battery.
Maybe power play is underclocking to much when the battery is low but it seems weird that when i change NHC settings to dynamic switching it works fine.
I set the low battery on Catalyst control to 0% and im gonna run it on battery today to see if thats the problem. -
I think it is the ATI powerplay. In Catalyst control Center under powerplay are two sliders when on battery (you don't see it on AC). One of them sets the powerplay underclocking on a low battery. NHC doesn't change anything depending on the battery level.

Yeah, think your right.
gonna have to change power play options
