    Hi!

I've read that NVIDIA is finally releasing the GPU drivers for notebooks. On their website, they have Release 179.28 (Beta) but I've downloaded and installed Release 180.84 a couple days ago and will be updating to 181.00 pretty soon from laptopvideo2go.com.

Question, is it best to install and downgrade from 180.84 to 179.28 which is the official driver offered by NVIDIA? Or is it better to go for 181.00 from laptopvideo2go.com?

    I have a 9800M GS.

    Thanks in advance!

    hello
you should check if you don't experience the resume from stand by reset symptom. i had it so had to revert to an older 179 release.

So far, 180.84 is pretty stable and doesn't cause any problems. I guess I'll stick with this until NVIDIA releases a non-beta update.

    Thanks guys!

As mentioned in a different thread, I experienced increase of frame rates after I installed the new beta drivers from Nvidia although most of the increase in frame rates were in older games like GTA SA, Halo, BattleZone 2 etc. I am still testing.

If I were you, I would backup everything and give the new ones a try.

I never worry about testing anything because I use Disk cloning and images for backups.
