New NVIDIA graphics drivers v186.31 (8.15.11.8631) are now available officially for ASUS notebooks running Windows Vista and/or Windows 7. The drivers originate from Microsoft Update, and are of course WHQL certified as a result. Please check the product support list below to see if your notebook's graphics card is supported.

    Thanks for any help!

hey guys forget about these drivers test out the 190.56 beta drivers they are amazing!! I got increase fps in almost all my games and the temperatures are still low. Mine doesnt go over 90 when im gaming normal, but if its long sessions its prob like 92 degress which is just as good. My idle temp also increase by like 3 degress but for the increase in fps it is worth it. I can even play crysis warhead on enthusiastic now at 1280X720 no AA (No OC) and get a steady 30fps. COD4 also runs a bit better than dox 182.05 also

prob alot because I used 185.85 and my temp increase to 96 degrees when i was playing COD4 I tried it with another game and similar thing. But with the 190.56 my temp maxed out at 89 with COD4 and it got little better performance than 182.05 DOX which is awesome XD. Its the best driver ive ever used since 182.05 DOX

    I ran 3DMark with 190.56 and Dox 185.85.

With the nVidia drivers I was about five degrees warmer and 500 points lower.

I d/loaded the driver, but I guess I'll wait till I install Win7 on my SSD's to try this out.

3dMark doesn't always reflect game performance.

    True.

Still, I'll ran warmer, and for a laptop that has high temperatures as it is... it's a no-no.

he also has the G51 so the drivers might work different for the 260M and the 260M is alot hotter anyways >.>. I dont really have that much increase in temp just like 2-3 degrees. I have the G50VT-X5 with the 9800GT so it prob works better so me. Im not too sure but try it anyways, if anything u just revert back to ur other drivers

9800m G[T]S, actually. GT is an entirely different card.

I might see what I'm getting in games, frame-wise, but with Dox 185.85 I'm getting 60+ in almost all the games I play, so I see no need to tack on five more frames for an increase in heat.

ya your prob right. In the end a little bit more fps dont seem that worth it for increase in heat. Imma keep trying some new drivers. I will test out the 186.XX drivers and see if the temps are the same or even less

I tested the nvidia 186.31 drivers and for some reason, it made my GPU idle around 72C. I tried again this morning with a cold boot and within minutes the temp shot up from 48C - 72C! It's probably a driver bug cuz I switched back to my stock drivers and it idles at ~55C.

How about a FureCube benchmark? Run them both at the same settings and over the same amount of time so that we can see the FPS differences.

I have this driver with Windows 7. I just got my laptop yesterday. I didn't overclock anything.

    Isn't this a bit low? Only 9307.

The score above is for the G51XVT-XA1 Laptop. Ignore my sig, it's a different system.

If you got a 3dmark of less than 10,000 on the system in your sig then something is definately wrong.

I would think you that should be higher than 13,000 easy but you may not be talking about the pc in your sig I dunno i havent read the whole thread.

Well, I know the GTX 280m is sometimes mislabeled as a GTX 170m. But you have an i7 processor and it's only registering as a P8700? Maybe I'm missing something.

That score seems much to low for the hardware in your signature.

What I figured. If that's at 1280x1024 resolution, that looks about right.

With my freshly unboxed RX05 variant, (2.0 GHz C2D) I scraped 8500 in a 1280x768 resolution. So, with a better processor and higher resolution, 9300 seems about right.

Yeah.....people should keep in mind that the Best Buy models can't do 1280x1024 by default.....we would have to use an external monitor so all of our 3DMark06 scores are on 1280x768.

The other versions with the 1080p screens, however, do default at 1280x1024 so they'll get lower scores due to the higher resolution

Word of advice: Don't use the 190.56 drivers if you're planning on playing Champions Online. Just installed them, and the performance is atrocious.
