Just decided to make the move to Vista x64 on my g1s. OS install went fine but when running the VGA installer downloaded from Asus' website I received a 32-bit-only error.
Next thing I tried was installing the VGA drivers straight from the ASUS drivers disc which worked. Unfortunately those drivers are as old as the disc and I want to make sure my video drivers are up-to-date especially running vista x64.
My question is would it be safe to install the 64 bit 8 series forceware drivers from NVidia's website or should I wait hopefully for ASUS to post 64 bit drivers to download? I read somewhere that g1s users should stick to the drivers provided by asus so I dont want to do anything I shouldn't.
thanks for any help.

Wow I just called ASUS tech support over this issue and received some of the worst customer service over the phone ive ever experienced.
the guy mumbled to me that the g1s doesn't support vista 64-bit and he "didn't know" if i could use nivida's forceware drivers. -

Just so you know, I am using Vista x64 and I used the drivers on the disc that came with the G1S. As far as I am aware, there is no update to that driver currently (you can't use the drivers on Nvidia's website for the G1S).
However, if you want more recent drivers, as osso002 mentioned, laptopvideo2go.com might be the way to go. I haven't had any problems with the included drivers, but I know people who swear by laptopvideo2go. -
yeah ill see how these go.. i know the ones on ASUS website are more current than the ones on the disc.
