Name your computer?

I know it sounds silly but I try to name all my computers, just got the G1 and haven't thought one up yet. So anyone else do this or am I all alone on this one?

i guess i need a name for mine too...up to this point iv just been refering to her as....well...her/she/my baby lol

well i call my curresnt one "HIM" oR "THE HIM"
either way it sounds a bit lame but still thas jus me

 

So it's not just me then. for now I too call this machine her/she/my baby so do my parents with their's. Wonder why we refer to them generally as female???

i mean we call world - her
we call vehicles like cars -her
laptops/desktops-her
women - her

 

i dunno man these days what looks like a "women" could at one time have been "men" *shudder*

I call mine the "other woman". Because my real lady gets rather upset when I am spending so much time with the "other woman". Though she would rather me be with this "other woman" than a real other woman. But she knows that no one can take her place as my princess. =)

 

Yeah, I know... My wife also calls my G1 the "other woman", "your mistress" or "my rival"... gees!

 

I think I'll call her "Old Bessie".

 

The official name of my machine is "Catch 22," but whenever I refer to it, it is just "my computer."

 

I call mine V1J... surprise surprise... I know, it's really original...

 

I think i'll settle for "My Precious!"

 

How about "April" from TMNT?
Or "Kagura", if you want something that's both evil and alluring.

 

I named mine Frost dont ask me why lol.

For real, I don't have a name for my Laptop, I just call it Laptop (my desktop is call desktop too)

I named my desktop "Home One" as any dork would.

My current laptop is named "Bill," I believe.

My W3V used to be called "The Wave." My current A8Js is called "The H."

 

My sony vaio was named "Subzero" then "Frosty." My A8jp (current laptop) is named "Pegasus_Rising"

 

Or Inu Yasha if you're dual booting =D

look up "Nova" from StarCraft Ghost. even though the game was canceled, there are still pics up. find a digital one of her, not some person dressed up in a costume. the pic to find is the one where he back is facing towards us (the viewer), and she is holding a rifle in her left hand, but most of that gets cut off.

my notebook's NAME is "Tastes like Shiny"...

but i just call it "My Asus" or "my notebook"

New G1- My Precious

LOL....nah the HP served it's purpose as a reliable workhorse,hell it's even my TV right now (tv card)....but at 17" weighing around 8.5-9 pounds and bulky it kind of earned the name of "the Brick"

G1 is actually not named "my precious" for its speed, no no. I bought the HP off my dad for $900 bucks, G1 cost me $1780. So pretty much double the cost, hence why it is known as "my precious"

Kagura was killed by Naraku, towards the end of the series(2nd from last episode, I think). Somewhere in chapter 356 in the manga.... Kinda Sad...

Anime is also like a passion! Big fan of Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist mainly. Rurouni Kenshan (spelling) is pretty good too.

 

I used to have several hundred anime tapes... but not anymore. Oh well.

Anyway, I always picked something to name my computers from. Recently it was Characters/Places from Windaria (an anime, by which I go as my nic). The network name was Crystania.

Recently, for my new network, I have gone with Star Wars Planets. Domain is named after the Kessel System, the server is Coruscant, wife named her comp after one, and I chose Alderaan. Just hope mine doesn't blow up... Oh well, just seemed funny to me, as when it does go kaput, at least the first thing out of my mouth can be "Alderaan blew up".

OK, that's just a tad geeky I guess... couldn't help it though.

 

Desktops - The Beast and The Beast Mk2 (named because of the noise - which has since been eliminated.

Laptop - Z33, because I'm boring that way.

I've always been a big fan of naming my computers.
My current laptop (in sig) is the "Field Commander".
The last desktop I built was named "The Punisher".

 

My workgroup is "Robot House" and my computers are all robots from Futurama. Tried to make them somewhat relevant to what I use the machine for when possible.

New laptop - Flexo (will probably get switched with the below since this will be my main computer)
Old laptop - Bender
Desktop - Clamps
Server - Donbot
HTPC - Calculon
Smartphone (p910a) - Robot 1X
iPod - Beezlebot (Robot Devil)
Flash drive - Hedonismbot

Girlfriend's laptop - Anglelyn
