First of all I wanna say hi to everybody. Here goes my problem. I just purchased a splendid G2P, the only problem being that the OS was in French and also the keys.
It came with a preinstalled Windows Media Center. I probably would have left it on it, but it was in French and I didn't understand anything. So I format it and installed Windows XP pro.

All things went well, the problem now is that every time I restart or turn it on, it shows me a message (white on a black screen) to choose what OS I prefer, win xp pro or win media center.

It also gives me an option to press f8 for troubleshooting.

I find this quite annoying to select it every time I turn on my lappy. And if I choose Media Center, it gives me an error (which is normal as I formatted it and installed a fresh copy of XP pro).

So, any advice to get rid of that ugly message would be appreciated. Otherwise the laptop is great, I'll install some games later and will get some benchmarks. :D

PS: please excuse my english, I am not a native english speaker.

LE: Does anybody knows how to check if the HDD has indeed 7200 RPM? Thanks

The easy way is to edit C:\Boot.ini
Find the option about Home Edition and comment it.

Also, you can boot to your XP CD's recovery console (obviously need to use the CD) and run fixmbr.
