Ok so I thought I had XP working fine on my brand new Asus M70VM so I decided to invest in a set of Sony DR BT22 bluetooth headphones...
They work great on the same laptop in Vista (I'm dual booting) but I can't get them to connect in XP. I am assuming the pairing process works as the light on the headphones indicates it is paired.
I have installed the wireless console 2 software and the used the update by searching a disk method to install the bluetooth drivers from the Asus driver disk supplied with the M70VM.
In Vista on the bluetooth settings window I have a tab called Audio where I connect the headphones. That isn't present in XP, all I have is the options, hardware, and com ports tabs?
I have had a look on google and the sites I've come across all assume your using a dongle and a mobile phone headset and you have widcomm stack/drivers and a "my bluetooth places" icon, none of which I have...
The Asus M70VM in Vista seems to have a broadcomm stack and BT-253
showing in the device manager.
So does anyone know how to get bluetooth audio working in XP on the M70VM? I know the headphones work fine because they work in Vista so I'm suspecting I have to do something to XP to get it to work properly - like getting the Widcomm softwarem, but I have no idea how or where?
Thanks in advance for any help on this, I really would like to get this solved as I game in XP and don't really want to game in Vista due to performance issues.![]()

Ok so about 6 hours later I finally got this sorted on my own...
I searched the Asus download pages using the search box at the top right with the search terms bluetooth and came across the correct driver and utility download (BT-253+utility). I now have fully functioning bluetooth headphones in Vista and XP. Woot!
If anyone wants the zip file that Asus packaged them in let me know and I'll up them to rapidshare and give you a link. (later I might post the link to the download from Asus if I can find it again...).
Just gotta get my Avermedia A577 DVB-T expresscard working in XP now and I will not need Vista... -
Glad you solved the problem.

Yeah, I even used my initiative and emailed Asus, and they were about as much help as a rash on your backside...
As a first time Asus owner I can't say I have any confidence in the support provided by Asus, check out the thread I just opened and you'll see what I mean...
Anyway here be the link to the Asus download page with the driver and utility that I was missing, you have to select XP as your OS and no doubt Asus will remove them in due course if their response to my email is anything to go by...
