Hi, I've posted similar thing to what laptop I should buy section. (I wouldn't "spam" like this usually but I need help quick)
I just wanted to know you guys' opinion since you guys all own Asus and one of the laptop I'm considering is Asus.
Let me know if you would recommend Asus over the other two (laptop itself, brand etc.)

I have to buy a laptop by this Saturday, so I need Advice Quick!

3 Laptops I've narrow downed to are

    Asus G51VX-X3A (newegg.ca) $1543.28

    P8700 (2.53)
    7 Home 64-bit
    4GB DDR2
    320GB SATA 7200
    GTX 260M
    15.6 LCD (1920x1080)
    14.6" x 10.3" x 1.3-1.6"
    7.26 lb
    6 cell
    2 year warranty

    Dell XPS 16 (Dell.ca) $1469
    P8700 (2.53)
    7 Home 64-bit
    4GB DDR3
    500GB SATA 7200
    HD 4670
    15.6 LCD (1600x900)
    15.2 x 10.1 x 1.4
    6.7 lb
    9 cell
    1 year warranty

    Sony VGN-FW590(Sony.ca) $1459

    P8800 (2.66)
    7 Home 64-bit
    4GB DDR2
    320GB SATA 7200
    HD 4650
    LCD 16.4" XBRITE-FullHD (1920×1080)
    15.1 x 10.3 x 1.1
    6.7 lb
    6 cell
    1 year warranty

The prices above are CAN dollar and with shipping and tax included.
I play games but I'm not a hardcore gamer (no crysis and such)
I want my laptop to last at least 3 years.

Spec wise Asus is the best because of the GTX260M but I'm worried about the heat problem (and how this might affect the life span) and also the laptop cover (with blue gaming logo stuff, it might not look very professional)

I never had experience with Dell or Sony, so I'm not sure what to expect in terms of build quality, customer service

Any kind of info or opinion would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Definitely go with either the asus or Dell. I, for one, will likely never own a Sony laptop.

My wife has a studio xps 1640 and I like it quite a bit. I was thinking about getting one for myself but decided I didn't want to wait for a month and really wanted a laptop with the i7 and gtx 260m gpu...so I went with the asus g51j a1. Plus the asus I got is a bit cheaper than the studio xps 1645.

    Also to clarify more

This laptop would be my moving desktop (since I'm not planning to have one)

That doesn't mean I want anything more than 16".

My screen size is set at 15"~16", because I think this satisfies my need for portability(17"+ is just too big for me)
and also good enough for my main purpose (computer programming. reason why I don't go for laptops with 1377*700 resolution laptops. It's just too small to have multiple windows open for coding)

I do game a bit (this is my only gadget to play game on since I don't own desktop or gaming consoles) what I meant by casual gaming is that I don't expect my new laptop to play everything on high resolution with high FPS.
I want something that will be able to play new games that comes out in next year or two at mid settings (is that impossible with the 3 I listed up there?)
