I've had the laptop for a couple of weeks and love it. Got on today and the DVD drive is no longer working. I hear it spinning up, but it's not recognize. In the device manager, it says it's not working properly and it could be a missing driver, but I tell it to look for a new driver and it says that the drive is the most current.
I have the DVD-RW with Litescribe and am running Vista Home. I tried disabling the drive and restarting but that didn't work. Only other thing I can think of is removing the driver and putting it back. Only, I don't know how to do that. How do I back up my current driver to use it again, or where might I be able to find the same driver online. Thanks.

try rolling back the drivers.
or uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them.
or do a system restore to a date that it still worked. -
Well, I don't know how to roll back the drivers. I did uninstall the drivers and then windows just reinstalled the hardware itself and it still has the same problem. I did a restore to a few days back and have the same problem. I just booted off of the restore disk I got with the computer so I know the drive is working itself. I just need a little direction with how to uninstall properly or re-apply the drivers again to see if that takes care of it.
