    Hi everyone,

I need some help here. I suddenly (yesterday night) cannot output the video from my A8Jm to my Dell LCD monitor anymore via DVI. When I press Fn+F8 and go to either "LCD + DVI" or "DVI Only", my laptop LCD goes black (doesn't turn off, just black screen) and nothing is outputted to my monitor. I cannot go back to "LCD Only" using Fn+F8 anymore. I have to restart the laptop in order to get the laptop LCD working. I have tried several times with the same outcome and a couple of times the laptop LCD turns completely green or blue and back to black again. Outputting through VGA still works.

Yesterday morning it was working fine. I then took my laptop to my friends place to plug into his TV via VGA (which I've done several times) and after I brought it back it didn't work through DVI anymore.

I really hope someone here can help me out.

Well, the easy "solution" is to reinstall the video drivers. It's a reasonable thing to expect that it'll solve the problem unless something is wrong in the hardware.

I cannot give more helpful suggestions as I have no experience with DVI output.

Thanks for your suggestion. I installed the latest driver and it works now. Glad i don't have to send it back to Asus

    You're welcome.

That's how Bill Gates fixed the train's locomotive when it broke in the middle of Siberia: "Let's all get off and then back on, maybe it starts again." :)
