Well everyone I was able to return my G1s-a1 becuase I could not take the stuttering issue anymore. I really like asus notebooks but im a litlte scared now with that whole stuttering issue with the 8600. I would like a notebook that performs well though and is a 15.4 screen, no big boys for me. Anyways i see the ASUS G Series G1S-B1 but again im scared of that stuttering issue. Does it happen on this laptop to? or is it fixed with this series?

Isn't the stuttering issue with the whole 8xxx series, but some have it more than others? Like, my asus c90s has the 8600m GT, but I haven't really experienced the stuttering issue, so I guess I just got lucky on the card.

On my G2S no stuttering occurs, same card. I do get the refresh from screen saver, but not like flickering or anything. It also seems that I do not have any more heat issues so far, and if I do then the laptop2 drivers should help. You may want to take a look at sager if you are scared of asus.

I absolutely LOVE my c90s, lol. The only issue people have are heat issues, but if you look around the c90s forums, the issues that people have with the c90s are pretty much solved...kinda. There's a lot of great supporting folk on NBR that help out anyone with the c90s. The main reason I like my c90s is because of the desktop processor and since I do a lot of photographic/video editing, the processor helps tremendously. The 8600m GT card is good too for gaming, it's the same as the G1s-a1, but on mine, I don't experience the stuttering issue, that said, that doesn't mean that all 8600m GT cards don't experience the stuttering issue.

I got a new G1S-B1 a week ago. Runs great and no stutter problems so far. For the price (ordered from newegg) it's a steal.

Stutter: I would first try to eliminate it by different video drivers, and by removing all the bloatware (including ASUS Data Security manager, known to cause stuttering).

C90: I wouldn't say it's only problem is the heat, it has a lot of issues that can be solved -- but they do require a fair amount of work.

E.B.E if you look at the 8600M GT stuttering threads you will see that almost everything has been tried including different driver revisions, clean installs of operating systems, etc

The stuttering actually occurs when the GPU goes above 95C which is quite common in some notebooks like the G1S that is why some people see the stutter and some people don't.

My recommendation is to stay away from the Asus G1 series and the Zepto 6625 series. Maybe try the dell XPS 1530, Do your research first though.

Also can I ask what reason you gave to return the laptop? Was it a recent purchase? I want to return mine too.

I bought it from Newgg and yes it was purchased like 2 weeks ago. The reason I gave them was the fact about the stuttering. I told them its a problem with these types of notebooks. What really helped me get it refund was that they dont carry them anymore. See the thing is im a Tech and ive been doing this crap for years. I tried everything in my knowledge and nothing ever worked. Im just realy weary about going with another 8600 GT
