    *sigh* this shouldnt be this hard, but apparently it is (at least for me). i attached orange IDE cable to the HD, but it doesnt seem to reach to the MOBO connector. i was sure i had the cable on right, but i carefully took it off anyway and i bent some of the HD pins . all the laptop and IDE HDs ive installed and removed and i bend the pins on my own brand new $130 HD. please help

    P.S. am i "allowed to bend that orange/IDE/FPC cable? underneath the HD?

    Yes you can, fold a bit in order for it to be tucked inside.
