I need to get a backpack for college and since the g50vt is an extremely large 15.4" laptop I need a bag that can fit that without being too large.

Best case scenario I can find a bag that fits and is for 15.4" laptops which would make it much smaller than having to go and buy a 17" laptop bag which would be just huge.

So if anyone has any first hand experience with a case for their g50vt laptop please share.

My G50 just barely fits into my Timbuk 2 17" messenger bag, I don't think you'll have much luck finding a 15" bag that will work...

Well that sucks. I know this laptop is large but to barely fit into a 17" bag?

What would you recommend as the best "smallest" 17" bag that would work fine for me. As I may be traveling a good bit and I'd need something to carry on planes with ease.

It is a 15.6 inch laptop not 15.4 inch. The screen is 15.4 inch but its the same chassis as the 15.6 inch screen. The whole unit is wider than a 15.4 inch and is much closer to the profile of a thick 16 inch.

I bought a TargusCitygear for my X3, too large for it. Look like that my G50Vt found a good bed to sleep in it, with free room to move :D.
My friend, Khazak (his nick here), bought a Samsonite 15.4" backpack and it fit perfectly.

Where you looking for information thats not in the specs? According to the specs yes, according to my replicator, well its not working.

Went out bag hunting today for something that would hold the zalman and the note book. Didnt find a clear winner yet.

looks like I'll have to go for a 17'' bag to be safe.

As i said based on specs it fits, depends on what else you wish to put in it also. The G50 is pretty sturdy but I wouldn't want to shove too much in the bag either.

I use a Briggs and Riley 17 roller bag (Verb) with my G50VT. Bag has two large compartments for the Laptop and a cooler (I carry other company product in one of them). Excellent bag with lifetime warranty, but expensive.
