    Hey.

I have an Asus Z70V (Asus M6VA in Europe) and I need a new DVD-burner because the old one is broken. My old drive has the number TS-L532A. But where can I find a new one? I live in Denmark so I prefer a shop that can ship to Denmark (the best would be a shop in Europe). Hope somebody can tell me where to find a new DVD-burner :)

How old was it, still warranty by reseller or Asus?? Maybe they will replace.
I tried Google search TS-L532A a couple days ago & the link to company website was foreign  , could not get a readable version  . NO RSVP from Samsung yet!
If you keep the old case/frame, you might be able to install a newer model in that frame. I wanted to try a Pioneer DVR-K06 Slot loading model, but am hesitating until more feedback from other users.
Other new models may not fit properly unless put into an Asus DVD frame :p .

    Hey,

just sent my W3N away on warranty because my DVD burner is not working properly. I have exactly the same model TS-L532A. It cannot burn files larger than 2GB. Afterwards the drive can´t read the disc, no matter what type of media I´m using. They said it was a common problem with all slimline optical drives. Also a google search on the drive indicates that other people have had lots of problem.

    Anyone else having problems maybe?

To bad I wont see my computer for a few weeks.

    Cheers

I know that the Liteon SOSW-852S is a suitable replacement for the TS-L532A. It is possible to change over the face plate. I put one in my W3A because the Liteon was less fussy about media. There is now a newer Liteon model SOSW-833S. I would expect all the mountings to be the same.

Details of this model are at http://www.liteonit.com/ODD/English/e_product/e_sosw833sx.asp (this is for the external drive unit) while the bare drive can be bought in UK at http://uk.insight.com/apps/productp...h=C=112&S=1068&M=LIT&P=&search_type=&K=&PS=50 . The external unit may be easier to find and it is a simple task to take out the bare drive.

    Hope this helps,

    John

I´m hoping they will simply replace the drive since they actually told me they were having problems with lots of different brands of drives.

Seems like you just have pray for the best to get a working drive these days..
