I have the same too. It works as supposed to, my only complaint would be that the contact surface with the laptop is slippery. I haven't done any hardcore test but there really is a difference with the mat and without. It's obviously not as good as a fan system, but it's silent, uses no power and better than nothing. I have no problems playing Oblivion/CC3/RSV etc for hours on the mat.

I would recommended it for on-the-move people, but if your laptop is permanently left on your desk, perhaps get a fan system.

But, I think G1 as mine (Z96J) has its only cooling outlet behind, so under cooling is useless (mine doesn't even get hot there). It would be needed something to cool the air behind the laptop.

That is the Zalman that everyone talks about, you got the right one. As for the Antec, if you're gonna go with that, you can get it a lot cheaper at other site.

In the long run you will be happier with the Zahlman, its the perfect size it has on off button variable fan speed and moves a lot of air quietly

I bought that for my G1S earlier but returned it soon after. the thing made my notebook hotter instead of cooler, and afterwards i realized why - the air intakes of the G1S are located underneath the notebook, so once the notebook melts the pad's contents the feet sink into the pad so that the pad is in direct contact with the notebook, effectively blocking all air intake openings. now i'm using a fan based cooler, and it works great. ambient temperature is about 29 degrees and i idle at around 49 degrees for the CPU according to speedfan. if you do decide to buy a fan based cooling pad, be sure to purchase one that blows air upwards. if you buy one that sucks air down from the top then you would be countering the air cooling system of your notebook. i couldn't find one that blew air upwards into the air intakes at my major dedicated computer store, but somehow found a cheap one that works exceptionally well at ... a WALMART of all places.

Now, how does the zalman notebook cooler works with the Asus G1S??
I wanted to buy the zalman cooler for my G1S this afternoon !! But now i see that it doesn't help or what??
I'm not going to buy the cooler if it only reduces the temp with like 2°C....

    Thanks
