I need some help from someone more tech savvy ...

Had my V6V motherboard replaced by ASUS, came back with a lot of stuff missing ... had to reinstall drivers, etc.

My question is how do I enable my fan? Haven't heard it go off since I got it back from ASUS. It's getting pretty hot but no fan ... any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    :noisyfan: I miss you!

I would recommend running the Asus Probe software which should display both the CPU temperature and the fan speed. I don't know the thermal settings for this model, but based on the W3, I would expect the fan to switch on at 45C. If the fan is not coming on and the temperature is above this, then I would wonder if the fan is connected.

LOL... I found that to be very amusing.

It would appear that the fan is either disconnected, the BIOS settings for the fan have been set up too high.
If it's possible, stress the system as much as you can and produce as much heat as possible (from the CPU). Your system will probably not suffer any damage because the computer will shut itself down before damage would occur.
Start up ASUSProbe to check the temperature.. if the temperature is ABOVE 80 degrees and the fan is still not on, then I would check to see if the fan is disconnected.

You could also try the Everest/Speedfan combo and see if you can manually start the fan.
