I am looking to buy an Asus N56vz with the FHD screen and the 7200rpm 750GB hard drive, but have not found an US-based e-tailer that does so. What reliable places would you recommend me to look into?

Hello my name is Jeffrey and I work for ASUS Customer Loyalty Team

Looks like the specific model that you are looking for is being sold by D&H, TD, and Synnex

Not sure what the exact retailer name is.

    Hope that helps.

mourinho: I'd rather stick with factory available parts. If I was going for the customization angle, I'd try a Compal, Sager or Clevo instead. Thanks for the advice, though.

cl-jeffrey: what are D&H, TD, and Synnex?

Prostar Computer: actually no, I'd rather buy standard-issue laptops.

I know Frys charge restocking fee (15%). Looks like Mwave does the same. Mwave gives 30 day return window it looks like. Frys is 15 days for notebooks. I would go with Mwave in this case since they are cheaper too. If you live near a Frys you may be able to pick one up right away though.

Microcenter has this configuration as the N56VZ-RB71. It also includes a Blu-ray drive, Nvidia 650m, and 8GB 1600Mhz RAM for $.01 less than $1k.

Yeah, I just noticed that. Thanks for the link! :)

So, is Microcenter any good regarding online-based sales? Are they reliable?
