I need help in formatting the F8V series. I've read a few posts on formatting Asus laptop. I just want to know is the "f9" button applies to all the series? That part where you do not need to insert the recovery disc?I;ve tried to use the recovery CD to reformat my laptop. But a few problems pop up and the laptop was like not "properly" recovered back to its original settings. Hope anyone can lend a helping hand in this. Thank you in advance and sorry for wasting any of your time here. :)

Yes F9 is the key to do a system recovery to factory settings. Reboot the laptop and press F9 at the ASUS splashscreen. This will start the process of recovering from the HDD recovery partition, without using the recovery disk (but probably using the drivers and utility disk).
