I'm hoping that I can get some help from a N10j owner. I have a Eee 900HA that I have upgraded to Vista. It runs quite well and I'm getting better battery performance than with XP.

I have a few ACPI and graphical issues that I'm trying to sort out. I'm using the ACPI drivers supplied with CD (for XP) and they mostly work. The hotkeys do not work for volume or VGA. Having these hotkeys not work is not a huge deal though because volume can be contolled with OS and second monitor still works via VGA. The main issue that I have is that I'm unable to switch to 1024x768 with the EeePC Tray Utility or with the display settings. There are times that I have to run at 1024x768.

Could a N10j owner (still with Vista) please tell me what version of EeePC Tray Utility you are running and what GMA950 driver you have?

    Thanks!

The n10j doesn't have an equivalent eeepc tray utility.

    Only the power4gear hybrid.

I loaded up the power4gear hybrid and did not see anywhere to change the resolution to 1024x678. I guess it could be tied into the specific ACPI of the N10j. What vista driver are you using for the GMA950?

    Thanks,
    Philip

Sorry again, but there's no equivalent software to get compressed 1024x678.

Instead, we get Asus Zoom in, which is just a big magnifier glass....definitely not as cool as compressed 1024x678.

As for the driver for the onboard VGA, i'm using the stock asus one. I actually haven't even used the intel VGA at all, just the nvidia.

It is not compressed. When you bring pointer to bottom of screen you can pan further down. So you have a 1024x768 desktop but you can only see part of it at any time. It is helpful for some programs that think you are running at 1024x768 and have their windows bigger than 600 vertical resolution. I had a program I was installing last night were I could not press the next button.

I do not see this Asus Zoom you are referring to in P4G Hybrid. Where is it in program? I'm starting to think that PG4 Hybrid is only working properly in the N10j...

Could you go into task manager and then processes and see if you have AsAcpSvr.exe and AsEPCMon.exe running?

If you do get a chance please look at driver version in device manager>display adapter>mobile intel...
