Need help g50vt with running Stalker

In case you all did not know, you can buy Stalker for 5 bucks on steam. It's a great deal but we G50vt users might have an issue. Here's the glitch I am having;

I double click and I see the blue circle that vista is loading the game but nothing happens. If I go to the task manager I can see the exe file and it's taking 50 percent of the CPU.

I have tried running in compatible mode for xp and 2000. All I have tried I get the same result. With reading lots of forums I think it has to do with the audio drivers. I went on Asus web page and they have no updated drivers for the audio.

If ya go buy it on steam for 5 bucks we might not be able to play it until new audio drivers are posted.

If ya guys have any ideas I'll gladly try it. Thanks

 

download the latest audio drivers from realtek.dunno if that will fix it am just telling you where you can find the drivers.

dont relly on asus support for drivers man, just do your own research and find the drivers you need

 

If you use generic audio drivers from realtek I was reading some audio features on your laptop might stop working. Hmm maybe its worth a try and see what happens...

 

Guys dont mess with Generic Drivers from the REalTek WEb page, it screws up the web cam mic and the eviroments you can add to your sound.

 

Did you get stalker to work?

 

nope started playing warhammer LoL maybe tommorow Ill do more reading and see if I can find a solution.

Maybe it needs to be run in admin mode.

 

LaptopNut thanks for that sugestion and Steam does it automatically when you install a game. I double check and its mark. This issue is killing me because I had high hope of playing it too. I will post if I have any luck.

 

hmm... i installed drivers from theyr page..but then again I never use the webcam mic.. whats enviroments you can add to your sound? and how do i know if its messed up?

I guess I can just roll back the driver... then again if its nothing important to me then I would rather have the updated driver.

Yea, I heard there were a few Vista fix patches released for stalker.

 

When you buy a game from STEAM it comes patched automatically by them. So yes its patched.

 

With the Asus Sound driver you can right mouse click on the speaker and you see Sound Manager. There are lots of options there to play with.

 

i ahve all that when i right click on the red realtek speaker?...

 

Hmm That did not get installed on mine when I used the Realtek Drivers.

 

FINALLY found problem!! Ya guys are not going to believe this but it was my Anti Virus. Panda for some reason was not letting it do something on it. I disable this feature called tru prevent witch it tried to prevent unknown viruses and that was causing the game not to load. WOOHOO Stalker here we COME!
