My Vista install just went to hell. I bought a second 2.5" SATA drive to swap with the drive in the G1S. I've removed the plastic cover on the bottom of the G1S but can't figure out how to pop put the hard drive. I don't have the G1S manual with me, and I can't download the PDF from Asus site - I have no second PC, just my iPod Touch.
Can some one point me to a site with instructions to do this or guide me here. Sorry if this has been posted before, but trying to search online with the Touch isn't that great for that.
Thanks
Also, I'm replacing the drive as I'm going to stick the drive in the G1S in an enclosure to pull some files off of it.

You might want to check this site http://asusg1s.wikidot.com/
There may be a disassembly guide for the Hard drive panel and cage located there. If not do a quick search on this forum.
How did you manage to send your Vista into the pitts of fire? Any way of exorcising it back to normal? -
Thanks, got it.

i have checked wikidop as well as the forums, but couldn't find anything in the 15-20 minutes I spent on it...
does anyone have a direct link or experience in the hdd replacement for the g1s?? -
It's actually very easy. The only thing that had me worried was after unscrewing the hard drive cover from the bottom of the G1S and seeing the rubber stopper with the plasting piece (thing that looks like folded over electrical tape). I wasn't sure if this was some sort of cable or ment for me to pull at, so I was a bit hesitant at first.
Need help replacing hard drive in G1S
