    Hello,
I know this subject has been discussed to death, however through my searches I still could not find all the drivers needed for the change over.

My situation is, I am working overseas so I have a company notebook on the company network (hence I am on this forum now), but I cannot use my G1S on the company network. So really it is almost fully cut off from the internet. The help that I am requesting would be, if someone could 1. in laymens terms help me through the steps of getting the o/s installed. 2. could help me with finding drivers (they will have to be downloaded and put on flash sticks or CD).

Any extra information or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for the help.

    Check this post for drivers.

As for the installation of XP, there are webpages/threads and even youtube videos that show you how to install XP. But if you need help/have a problem on a specific thing then ask.

Also make sure your XP disk has SP2(service pack 2) on it. If it doesnt, then slipstream(there are guides that show you various methods on how to do it) it on the XP disk

Can you slipstream the ASUS driver pack on the new Windows Disc also? Just curious

Madbomb20 you may want to reconsider the XP install if it will leave you with no way to return to Vista. Please at least ensure you have recovery DVD or partition available to you. I have hit major problems with the changeover on my G1s but did at least use a separate HDD to install to, so easy to change back.

Thread detailing the issue I had is here:

Hopefully it can be solved, and I hate to double post, but saw your thread and wanted to warn you just in case....

I followed the instructions on another post for slipstreaming SP2 and the SATA Driver onto the XP disc and it installed great, only problem now is trying to get back Windows Vista... I have Vista on C: and XP on D:. I added a line for Vista to the boot.cfg but when the boot menu comes up it does not want to load, think it has something to do with the NT loader.
Any suggestions? I can get into XP to manipulate things from there... thanks!

I used Vistabootpro http://www.vistabootpro.org from within Windows XP and restored my Vista bootloader to the primary (C :) drive, Vista fired right up afterwards! Thanks for the quick post however UKlappyman!
