Ok guys, Theres this one problem that's bugging me, Everytime I boot up for a new computer, and it starts recognizing the new hardware, it always goes to IDE Channel 'recognized' and then it stalls and freezes.

I go into Safe mode, and there, I get an error from Windows stating, that the IDE Channel has the wrong 'drivers'. Under Hardware in Control Panel, there is a yellow exclaimation mark and I need to install a driver.

What driver? Ok, I'm a noobie in this area, just because its the first time this has occured. Any help? :p

    Thanks

I would have thought this is related to the chipset. I can't see a specific chipset driver listed for (as example) the W3A but there is the Intel INF update which provides the specific computer hardware configuration. Get this file for your computer, right click on it and select install.

    Hope this helps,

    John

You mean you transplanted the drive without reinstalling windows? In theory it should work. WOrked fine for every other laptop we done it with xept the v6va which i dont play with much. Try this in safe mode. Right click on the device and click uninstall then boot normally.....

You didn't buy one by any chance, did you? Or are you playing around with one of your friends' or Canadasys' V6Va?

Anyhow...is the installation of Windows fresh? If not, one of the system files may be corrupt, causing the system to crash when loading a certain driver.

I agree very posible though i see no reason why an hd transplant would work for all other notebooks but not the v6va....But ye a reinstall would be the nex step

    Still not working...

    Ugh....

I wanted to use my 7200rpm 60gb HD which used to be in the Z70va into my V6va. That HD has been in use(formatted a few times) since it was bought...

I don't want to renstall though...

While I'm at it, I got the 'recovery CD' and being the noob I am, how the hell do I get a Windows CD? lol

Put the recovery cd in the drive and you'll boot up and windows and all the drivers and install them on the new hard drive in no time. You're better off doing that than pulling that hard drive off and putting it in the new system. Some drivers just don't like each other and you could have problems. I've done this myself and often switch between a few systems... as long as they have the same chipset (which yours do).. it's not much of a problem, but you could have more problems overtime.... just keep track of the drivers.

Yea - I don't plan to use the same HD data in the 7k60, but I need to get some data off it, and a few other things...

But just in case. I wanted to know :p

One thing you can fix it, just choose "repair the windows" during the installation. I deal with this many times for repairing the Windows.
