    Hi Guys,

I have an ASUS K43SV with I7-2630QM and Nvidia GT540M.
My problem is I think the temperature is a little bit too high.
Idle temperature hovers around mid 50's to 60 degrees Celsius.
Load temperatures reach up to mid 90's degrees.
I tried using 2 types of notebook cooler: tray/stand type (vantec lapcool3, quite old) and bar type (vantec lapcool5). They both did not really change the temperature at all. I tried monitoring the temperature with HWmonitor and the temps didn't move, it just fluctuates back and forth maybe 1 or 2 degrees.
I also tried adding a small exhaust fan (aerocool FIT) to the exhaust vent on the side and that did not amount to anything either.
The GFX temps is also scary, gaming with stock clocks reach around 92 degrees. If I overclock it reaches up to 95 degrees.

Do you think this is a problem with the heat sink/thermal paste?
What cooler is compatible/effective with this model? I noticed this model only has small vents at the bottom.
    Thank You for your time.

P.S: I am located in Singapore, so the average temperature is about 24-28 degrees Celsius.

I definitely think a reapplication of the thermal paste will help this. The stock stuff used by ASUS isn't the best. While you are still within limits, it is pushing it in the 95+ range when you are gaming. I wouldn't be too worried about those stock temps myself.

As for a notebook cooler, I use the Bytecc NC-820 and that seems to be effective for long usage.

Well, I managed to redo the thermal paste and I also bought Chinese offshoot of Cooler Master's X2. Still no considerable change :(
I just don't get it, is it because the minimal amount of ventilation for this laptop?
