Hi I'm thinking of ordering the Asus A6T (Asus Z92T), but first I need some information about the noise and heat level of this notebook. Does it uncomfortably warm? How quietly does it run? Another thing that I need to know is AMD cpu that comes with it, is it any good compared to intel t2300? And last but not least, how long does the battery last? PLEASE, help!

REALLY APPRECIATE ANY HELP I CAN GET!

I just got mine little over a week ago and I'm very happy with it. But it does get quite warm, when surfing/office/Sims 2 the CPU is usually between 50-60 degrees (centigrade) and the HDD between 45-50 degrees (ambient temp is around 25 degrees). When I was defragging the temperature was a bit higher. I got a cooler/stand from Cooler Master, which lowers the HDD temperature by at least 8 degrees, plus it's more comfortable to use on a desk and lap (which is why I bought it). The right hand side of the keyboard gets warm, but it doesn't get too hot.

I think it's very quiet, but I have a noisy room, it sits next to my desktop PC, and everybody has different levels of what they find acceptable.

CPU is good enough for what I do with it, I hardly ever use both cores according to NHC. I can't compare it to the Intel cpu.

Haven't had a chance to test the battery, but according to people on a Dutch forum it can last between 3 and 3,5 hours, but it really depends on your setting.

The only thing that annoys me is that most of the ports are on the right side of the notebook, if you are using a mouse wires such as headphones, firewire, etc can get in the way. But all in all I'm very happy with it.

    Good luck choosing.

Well i know its not the same but I've got a Z92M, (Go6100 IGPU) and not a ATI one.
If i set the monitor dim and the wireless off I can get >5hours if I'm just in word. And a easy 3.5hours with screen a little brighter and wifi on. Thats with the 8 cell 4800mAh battery I got with it.

I noticed that the Z92U,A6km,A6Vc I've had/have come with 4400mah batteries so was suprised to get a bigger one this time :)

As for the turion X2, its faster than my P-m 1.76 and turion 64(s) 1.6Ghz, 1.8Ghz, and a little under that of my desktop's AMD 3800+ x2.

Put it this way, speed is not an issue,
takes 36minutes to turn a 1 hour AVI file (topgear) into MPEG2 (DVD) with the Cyberlink power director it comes with.

took 1:05 with both the P-m and turions.
    0:30 with the desktop's AMD 3800+ x2

not sure if its totally relevant, but just though I'd share.

yup got more info for you. My fan on my z92m was always running very slowly all the time. I noticed on the asus section that someone made the ACPI class files for NHC (notebook hardware controller) after using that I've change it so the fan only come on when it gets to 45 degrees and not always on. Not the notebook runs a bit quieter when just using it for word and internet, but it does get a tad hotter on my lap, not uncomfortable, but certainly warm.

I'm going to swap my z92m over for this z92t in a few weeks time :)
