    Hey guys,

So far, the only way to get a W3J with faster Core Duo 2 chip is to get it customized. The only place I see so far is Geared2play. I am just asking if anybody get one from them for inputs.

I want to know the stability and performance wise on them. Thanks,

You should phone Eddie (Geared2play) up. He's a good guy and tell you all about it. From what I have heard, a member here has it done, it's quite stable and same performance as other C2D.

Nothing wrong with t7xxx series on a w3j. Leave the testing up to us. Nothing get put on the site unless its 100% ready. Cant say the same for some others. Seen websites offer the z62j and z62f with merom only to recall it later and cancel orders.

    THanks, Geared2play,

I was just asking as a consumer side view, not on your business side. I was just worried since the Asus ones only came with T5500 chips.

What's the turnaround time on customized notebooks?

Asus never uses top of the line cpus. They generally come out with low to mid range cpus. The a8js was a surprise quite frankly. Please check our website faq for answers to general questiosn such as turn around.

I think the A8Js might have gotten the T7200, because nVidia sponsored it to make a strong launch platform to compliment the new Go 7700. The conspiracy theorists might also point to emphasis on the A8Js and the downgrading of the W3Jp as being a move to discourage ATI/AMD sales. ;) I doubt ASUS would participate in those shananigans though.

I highly recommend purchasing from G2P(now BTOTech). You will not regret your purchase.

Turn around policy is five days or less, but I would imagine it to usually be much less than five days. My Z96J was shipped out the day after Eddie received the first shipment from Asus. He would have shipped it out the same day, but Asus forgot to send him the BoA logos. I had my Z96J before a lot of resellers ever got their hands on them.
