Hey guys I have an Asus W7J and I have a problem with the mic screeching while I talk. I have narrowed down the problem to the fan for either the processor of graphics card. Since the mic is so close to it the mic picks up the loud sound of the fan and its usually always going at high to medium speed since its a small laptop. So I was wondering is there anyway to fix this or do something about it? Thanks

Try enabling the Acoustic Echo Cancellation in your Realtek audio manager and play around with the recording and playback volume settings. Also try installing a newer audio driver if available.

If all fails, you could purchase a cheap external mic and use that to bypass your screeching issue, if indeed it is caused by the loud fan.
