My Asus G1S-A1 recently died on my. The Nvidia chip is gone. I am a college student and I am without a laptop. I sent the G1S-A1 to Asus' RMA and hopefully I can get a replacement, but for now I need a laptop (for basic word files and web browering). Is it worth buying an Asus Eee PC 1005HA(netbook) for $300 now or waiting for the Asus Eee PC 1201N ($500~)?

    Thanks!

I'm probably in the same boat you are in right now. I'm thinking of investing in an Asus netbook for light work. Perhaps the 1008HA will serve us well.
