    hi all,
i was looking around for some info and i chanced upon this thread....
The New Asus A7G features the latest graphics chipset from ATi.
First shipping notebook featuring ATI's Next Generation Mobility Radeon Graphics
    - 128MB (128-bit) GDDR3
    - All in One Digital Multimedia Center
    - Intel® Centrino™ Mobile Technology
    - 1.60 – 2.13GHz Pentium® M
    - 533MHz FSB
    - 2MB L2 Cache
    - Mobile Intel® 915PM Express Chipset
    - 17” Widescreen Color Shine LCD
    - Built-in 1.3 Megapixel camera
    - Analog TV (A7Gb); Hybrid TV (A7Gc)
    - 40.5x31.4x3.8cm, 4.0Kg

I think this is going to be a great laptop to compete with the NP5720/M570A from Sager/Clevo.
If the radeon is comparable to the 7800GTX...
    lets hope so

Yea, there was word of this.

The x1600 is not a high end card really, so don't expect it to compare to the 7800gtx from what I've heard...

Nonetheless, its awesome that an ASUS laptop is used to show new technology(Like the ASUS s5n(I think) for the Centrino chipset when it first was introduced)

seems like he only had it for very little time to play around with.
    therefore no benchmarks etc.....
but overall seems to be a good product. nice build and great features.
something we have come to expect of asus now. :asus:
though im wonder what next-gen vid card could be in there?!?!
any resellers got more info on this one?!

this X1600 will most likely be the new modern and most used vid card in new laptops.

    Will prolly achieve 4000 3dmakrs05

    its equivalent to a 6800 256mb

Also has PS3 technology!! finaly, ATI keeping up with that!! :D

SHould run cool and quitely because of new technology.

    Thanks,

    MysticGolem

Do you think they will have a Z70VA esque laptop, meaning around 6 pounds, very sexy and powerful, with an X1600 by the end of January?

I might return the Z70VA i just ordered if that is the case...

Someone on another forum saw the benchmark screenshots before they took them down and he said it scored somewhere around 4000 marks in 3dMark05.

4000 marks in 3Dmark 05 would be great and am sure some OC'ing will push it up more!!
just hope they can get some 15.4" notebooks based on this card. with all the talk about design i think it could be possible and not be limited to 17" notebooks only.

lol.. of course there will be 15" notebooks with this card.. ATI has also yet to release their x1800. The X1800 will be the one that is for the most part on 17" notebooks.
