A listing of new Asus models with Merom and their MSRPs can be found here. Check out the thread while you're there.

Since this hasn't been asked for quite some time, I will ask. Any news on the release date of the V1J in NA?

From the list I have today, there are 23 new models for Q4, starting to be available mid Oct ( ETA ), I don't see V1J from the list.

What's the deal with the a8jm having a 7700 Nvidia card?

Having followed nvidia closely for as long as the Riva TnT days, there is no such GPU as a go 7700, usually the GO versions follow the desktop lines but with lower voltage and so on and there is also no such thing as a 7700 GPU for the desktop line.

Weird. Is that a typo? Or will nvidia be announcing a new product line? I am thinking it's a typo.

Ok. Can someone *pleeeeaaase* tell me when the ASUS A8J/W3J/W7J with Merom comes out.

I desperately need a new laptop BUT do not want to buy 32-bit when 64 bit AND 64-bit vista is going to come out!!

How long can you wait... It will be anywhere between 1-2 months... I wouldn't expect it to be released before the end of september, but the fact the prices are out seems promising!

It's a real shame they didnt put the T7200 in all these machines! I think I'm going to have to upgrade and void my global warranty!

    C2D T7200
    2.00GHz

    $294

    C2D T5600

It is "supposed" to be release in mid october probably around november is a good estimate. 64 bit computing with not be that useful for a long time, i have an athlon 64 and the only 64 bit apps are games mostly oh and drivers are a ***** to find.

Hmmm...The F3Jm is gone and the F3Jc is noticeably decontented...did a WXGA+ screen make it to the A8Jm or (preferably) the F3Jc? Is the DVI
connector still there? Enquiring minds want to know...

ummmm.... can I suggest you read the thread... the answer is quite obviously here! BTW... which model did you order?

It won't be long now. With both intel and Microsoft pushing hard for 64bit technology, most new programs will trend towards 64bit apps. Esp now that Merom and Conroe are on the market and Vista just around the corner.

Processor Number Cach Clock Speed Front Side Bus
    T7600 4 MB L2 2.33 GHz 667 MHz
    T7400 4 MB L2 2.16 GHz 667 MHz
    T7200 4 MB L2 2.00 GHz 667 MHz
    T5600 2 MB L2 1.83 GHz 667 MHz
    T5500 2 MB L2 1.66 GHz 667 MHz

WTF.... T5600 in the W3J thats prety bottom line, I was thinking of upgrading while im still in the US but I might as well wait for my warantee to expire next year and plump in a T7600 2.33 Ghz Duo Core 2 and swap the processor myself.

PS, I dont want to hear about price point......... some poeple just want to buy the best they can at the time of release and are prepared to pay the premium for it :D

Omg..wow. I'm blind hahahaha. Can't believe I missed that. And it should have just made sense...after the numbering of the Core 1 Duos.

There is no premium to pay for...Vendors like Dell and Hp are just stupid for charging extra >_>

Yes, unless you want the computer upgraded, which can be done. Please keep questions on the group-buy in that thread though. I don't want this to get out of hand again.

I agree with what abaxter wrote in his Merom update... the T7200 is the sweetspot for budget and performance. $129 for an additional .16Mhz (T7400) and a whole lot more for the T7600 just isn't economically intelligent. Of course the products and prices wouldnt exist if intel didnt know people like you exist!
