Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum :)

Just a week before I bought Asus X55C laptop. Everything is fine except the palm rests are getting warm. :( I really wondered because they said it has ice cool technology therefore all heat producing components are placed away from palm rests.

Other than palm rests, all surfaces (even bottom) of the laptop are really cool.

Does their technology backfired in my laptop? :confused2:

Is your hard-drive perhaps directly below the palm-rest? If you have a spinning hard-drive they can generate some heat, the 7200rpms usually.

I have a 7200rpm in my Asus N56 and I can feel a slight warmth from it on the right hand side of the palm-rest, just above the hard-drive. It's never hot though, just slightly warmer than the ice-cool case.

Sorry for very late reply. I installed and checked values of CPU, GPU and Hard drive temperatures. Everything seems to be normal. CPU and GPU under 50 degrees, Hard drive under 40 degrees celsius. I also updated to latest Bios.

The most funny thing is other than palm rest surface, every part of laptop is really cool :D

    Only palm rests warms up.

Nice Temps! ONe thing worth trying would be elevating the back of the computer about 3 inches + see if that helps. Or borrow a notebook cooler if possible for testing.

Thanks for your quick reply. I tried elevating the computer for a while. Used my old notebook cooler for testing. Bottom of the laptop becomes super cool but palms rests area remains warm. Now working in a Air conditioned room, temperature around 21 C.
