I just bought a G72gx rbbx09, and I have a few questions about it before it gets here...

I am wondering if the Q9000 is overclockable through Asus' turbo clock utility?

Where can I buy a larger battery?

Do you know if the bios is locked? Could I flash the mobo if it was, since Asus uses their own motherboards?

Do you know if both harddrives are partitioned, or if just one is? Is the recovery partition and the OS on the same harddrive?

Is the DVD drive going to be easy to switch out in this model? I am looking into buying a Blu-Ray drive. Any suggestions would be good too.

What are some good mouses and keyboards as well? I am left handed... I like keys with a curved top on the top that sloped off on the edge gradually.

Also, does anyone know how to control the lights on the laptop? Synch to music or processor use or something? By lights, I mean the keyboard and the light bar.

    Nope :(

First drive has no partitions, secound drive is split in 2.

Not sure on rest looking in to Blu-ray myself.

    :(

Have you tried OC'ing yours Lord Al? Or does it just get too hot? I was expecting around 2.3ish, and then the underclocking mode of the Turbo Engine thing on Asus' would bring it back down to normal.

Also, how does it handle games? Tried anything really intensive on it yet? I can't wait for mine to get here...

Have you tried putting the 260M at stock clocks?

    No.

The system BIOS is not locked and is flashable.

What lord_al said. "First drive has no partitions, secound drive is split in 2."

Yes, the ODD is easy to remove and replace. If you're looking for a nice Blu-ray reader, you can try out a Panasonic UJ-130. It's a very reliable drive.

Here's a nice lefty mouse. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/mice/devices/168&cl=us,en. I am temporarily left handed due to my injury so I needed to get used to using my G9x with my left hand. The G9x is pretty okay for lefties. You can also try any of Logitech's ambidextrous mice.

Here is a good ergo keyboard as well. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/keyboards/keyboard/devices/5994&cl=us,en. But if you want the best of the best, get a das. http://www.daskeyboard.com/.

I have an asus 10NJC with a hdmi socket on the side which my manual says I can connect to a set top box, dvd player or pvr. By doing this can I watch tv via a set top box on my computer?

Okay, if I plug it in how do I access incoming stuff from the hdmi? Do I need to install a program to do it, is there one already there? The manual doesn't say anything other than it can be connected.

Irony must have meant something different when I went to school, unless you're trying to imply it's plug and play, in which case the manual is poorly explained.
