    Hi, all! A noob here.

Okay, I'm playing around with my new C90 and have a couple of questions:

    1) The quick launch keys in the upper right do not seem to do anything (ie: launch Firefox or IE, email, etc). Does the ATK hotkey utility need to be installed for this? (I had this built by ISTNC.com and they might not have installed all of the Asus utilities...if that's what I need)

    2) Fans. Is there a way to monitor the speed of the fans? (will Speedfan work with Vista and the C90?)

    Thanks a bunch!

1.) Yes it needs to be installed

2.) Speedfan doesnt work, I suppose they are not traditional system fans so they cant be monitored by a default program like that, somebody will have to modify to point to the correct place for the program to find them.

    thanks, Viscous.

Loaded the utility, and the keys work.

This is probably more of a Vista question than a C90 one. Can I have the browser quick launch key open Firefox instead of IE?

(I have Firefox set as the default browser...not sure if there's something I have to do for this utility)

Hmm Try setting firefox as your default browser. I think it automatically opens whatever your default browser is set to. Dammnit wish I had my c90 here so I could help.

Edit:lol just read your 2nd part. Did you try opening up the control panel for atk? Do a search in the vista bar and open up the atk hotkey.

No luck. In Task Manager, I see HControl.exe and ATKOSD.exe running, but I can't bring up a control panel. Firefox is set as default browser for Vista.

I loaded the ATK hotkey utility off of the driver disk, so maybe it (or the BIOS) is an older version...although I can't seem to locate the ATK hotkey utility on the ASUS site.

Let me go check again...and get the BIOS version number :)

    Thanks again.

    Brad

    edit: Bios version 0401 (6-4-07)

Yeah, it's opening IE for me too, still trying to find a way to change it. I'll keep you posted.
