Asus is usually quite good with crapware and it should be minimal. However, you will have Norton slowing down your computer and moving it slowly towards the inevitable BSOD.

My advise would be to remove Norton Antivirus and replace with AVG Free and ZoneAlarm, both of these are free and work very well (ive been using them for ages).

Apart from that this question has been answered before, do a search on the forum.

Aside from removing Norton as radditz mentioned, you will also want to remove Asus Live Update. You may also want to look into whether you want
to keep Splendid software, this is your choice.

Some people find their notebook to be sluggish when they first recieve it, so some just resort to a clean install of Windows and then insert the driver CD and then installed the drivers and utilities they want. From there they will proceed with installing their own applications.

You will also want to consider adjusting the partition size, converting to NTFS, you can use Partition Magic to help.
