    Ok here's the prob.

I've got my new lappy today everything seemed normal for the afternoon.

But the i tried to install Diablo 2 and then i Got a BSOD saying : driver, or anything recently installed, or memory may have cause the crash etc. REstarted .... nothing happenned, on the second attempt i got to : Asustek recovery Crisis menu

Saying : Erasing Bios then, Reflashing Bios... at this point it stucked at 1/4 for like 1 hour or so... i tried rebooting again... now here i am, no booting menu, just a black screen...

What I have done ? And what i need to do to get my notebook running again ?

Btw. I installed war3 and played it, so diablo2 wasnt the first game.

put your vista cd in, and reinstall vista, that sounds like the problem, BUT call asus or gentech first

I talked to him, the computer accidentally enter easy flash screen and he turn off the computer during BIOS flash, need to send back to replace it.

Note: never turn off computer during BIOS flash.

Yeah, that was what I was too thinking when he said that he rebooted after/during the flashing.

Anyhow wat confused me, Is it supposed to enter this easy flash screen on its own?? How did that flash start in the first place??

It probably started with a bad stick of RAM, but now ended with an incomplete BIOS flash. =/ Flashing the BIOS is the most sensitive operation a notebook can undergo.

Hmm, now that i have reread his original post, i c wat could have been the reason.

"REstarted .... nothing happenned, on the second attempt i got to : Asustek recovery Crisis menu"

I think the Asustek recovery crisis menu was the culprit that started the flash.. Again, this is something that comes up on a bad boot?

I did not hit f4 or any key exept the power button.

I don't know why it booted to BIOS erasing/flashing menu...
It doesnt even enter Post in bootup,

Some friend of mine told me about a jumper on the motherboard to reset the ROM memory to take the BIOS back to the CMOS .

Don't think this is a good call on a laptop ...

sending back seems the last option... damn me for beeing goofy/unlucky :(

Hmm, i think ur friend is talking about resetting the BIOS to defaults.. Anyhow, i dont think that would work here if ur BIOS is corrupted now in the first place coz of the reset while flashing..

Anyhow, tough luck buddy!! Hope you get it back soon.. :)

One lesson that can be learned is: do not restart during BIOS Flashing. But if it gets stuck there's nothing else you can do...

My guess is there was something wrong in the first place, otherwise it wouldn't have got stuck during flashing.

Or that Crisis Recovery Console or whatever is buggy. Quite a distinct likelihood with these poorly coded, almost-untested ASUS utilities.

flashing does not refer to a flash as in light flickering :)

It refers to the process by which the BIOS is rewritten. It's not like something that happens out of the blue, so don't worry. You have to initiate the process yourself.

(Unless that silly Crisis recovery center starts the BIOS flashing by itself, which would suck. I'm not so clear on what that is or how it works, but NO software should rewrite a BIOS automatically without requiring user confirmation, NEVER EVER. If it does, I pity the designers of the application.).

    OK here's an Update

After a almost depressive day looking at my geargous yet non-working G2s I prayed and tried to power it up again.

? It started the asus animation (hard drive seemed to communicate this time)
And enter automaticly the : Asustek crisis recovery saying :

Erasing Bios(again) Flashing Bios (this time It performe completly in like 8 seconds) verify bios (said complete need to shut down), then I hit the power again ... Strange Bios Screen saying :
    - Mac Adress ** ** ** ** **
    - Accesing ROM or whatever

    Then booted to vista !

BUT, after like 8 mins, my girl friend tried mahjong and suddenly
Black screen again  can't startup again !!!

Why should this happen after saying the Bios flash is complete ?????
    Help me :(

Oh yeah and before it goes out, The Red side light were blinking

The other posters are right. Whenever messing with any firmware/BIOS upgrades it is safest to never cut power to the machine, and if it is battery operated make sure your batteries are charged to full or will last the entire duration of the operation.
