Maybe there's a thread on this already, or perhaps it's lost in the Bestbuy hype, but Newegg is suddenly sporting a new model of the G50VT.
It looks like an X6, but it's got a P8600 and the cruddy 1366x768 screen (well, pretty poor compared to 1680x1050), as well as a 6-cell battery.

I'm kind of at a loss as to why Newegg would debut a model which is more expensive than the similarly specced (except for the cpu) X5 version at Bestbuy. ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9173262&type=product&id=1218044029168)

Or its another one of their, in the system, never existed postings. Like the P8700 powered G50VT-X5 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220479
Googling G50VT-X8TW brings up alot of pages though, ASUS must have opened a warehouse door and ran into a bunch of hardware they forgot about. -

Haha, well that sounds likely enough. We'll see if it stays around. Thanks for the reference.

@ integra - lol wut? looks nothing the same from what im looking at.
Anyone else think that honda could have saved money by sharing headlights of those certain year oddessy's (you know which ones i mean) with the accord or one of the acura head lamps? Its okay I do you one worse, the fixed head lamp Lamborghini diablo's used the 90-95 300zx headlamps, had an owner source the 98 HID update through my dealer here.
I looked again, the page is active plus the google results its definitly a real model all ready to ship, but just seems out of the blue you know. Good competition for those between the G50 and G51. -

while it wasnt exactly the same MANY parts in the Integra were used in the NSX they did to much cost cutting. -

I should probably take this to pm with you, and i will. While many parts look similar (steering wheel(edit, even the steering wheel is 100% not the same).... thats actually about where it ends) only thing i could say thats might be 100% the same is the shift knob and i believe the integra in the pic has the type r red stiching? The cars cost is the aluminum, as much aluminum as you can make a car from.
If you want to see cost cutting look at the 03 and up ish Altima, Maxima, 350z, G35, Skyline 250, 350 all use 50% or more in stampings (alt + max = same, G35 + 03-05 sky = same 350z was a fun mess) and shared plenty of interior parts.
ASUS did the same thing with the G51Anyways pm me if u like always up for car talk.

I just ordered a g50vt-x8tw from newegg on Sunday. It shows that it will be here on Thursday. I will post back with pics and maybe my 1st impression review once I get it.

The new model at Newegg looks tempting, especially since their other model now costs the same as a base Sager NP8662.
