    Hi everybody,

I've got new HDD and I though I'll just swap HDDs and use Asus Recovery DVDs to install windows on new HDD. But it gives error messages on "recover to entire HDD", and does nothing on "recover to 1st partion" and "with 2 partions".

I have modular HDD bay and new HDD seems healthy when I checked it.

How do I install fre*king windows using recovery disks? Please help.

:) Well, it just says "Initializing recovery..." forever, cd-rom stops, HDD doesn't make any noises, no activity. And recovery to entire HDD gives mad error messages.

I wonder if I should reformat new HDD... I originally formated it in module-bay into NTFS. Maybe it should be done in DOS. I don't know how though. Any ideas?

    Spasibo zaranee :)

are you trying to install the os onto the drive in the modular bay or the main drive?
I am guessing main as you need the cd rom present in the modular bay
There is no reason other then hardware defect why you should get this problem.
run memtest.org memtest. run that a few hours. If that passes then run seatools if you have a seagate drive or hitachi diagnostics if it is hitachi. Fuji also has their own test util on their site. Something has got to be wrong. Also the install cd is all original or copy. Needless to say copies can be bad especially if untested.
