    Intel releasing new lineup of low end desktop quads to compete with amd starting with Q7500. 65w tdp, 2 mb lvl2 cache, 800mhz fsb @ 2.6ghz(13x). Expected price around $150

    Interesting stuff methinks....

    65w has to be a mistake. Even the QX9300 is only 45w.

    Might be because the Q7500 is a desktop chip?

    The C90s uses desktop chips.

    Indeed not getting released until next month I think. Sounds quite sweet except for the tiddly 2mb lvl2 cache. Bringing bus speed to 1066 would stick it at practically 3.5ghz; although at that speed even at 45nm it would probably drain too much power and create too much heat to work stably. Still the quad is a viable option for the now aging laptop and the first(only perhaps) quad to be so.
