I just bought a new asus N550JK laptop and have had it for the last 4 days. Now the screen starts flickering and blacks out, I have called asus and updated the video card driver that didnt help then did a full reset and that didnt help now asus wants me to send it back for repair. I need the computer back pretty fast and dont know should I send it to asus or just take it to a computer repair store close to me and pay them to fix it. can anyone give me some insight on what the problem might be or should I send it back to asus. thanks

I would send it back to Asus. Sounds like a hardware problem, not a software problem. This is a major issue.

If you go to a local computer repair store they will probably tell you the same and they need to take your laptop apart. By allowing that you would lose warranty and you can't be sure that they will solve the problem (after all it's a laptop and not common PC tower where you can easily exchange parts).

You could contact the place you bought it from and ask for an exchange since you just got it.
