You can get the latest nVidia drivers from laptopvideo2go.com. The latest driver 174.70 includes many OEM inf files so you don't need to get a separate modded INF file.
In my case, they worked perfectly on my Asus U6S with XP, and this new driver recognize my new 24" display much better (I had to unplug-replug my external screen after each reboot to get max. resolution).
The driver did not work as provided because the default inf did not have the correct PID for my video card. So I searched for the proper inf in the included file original_inf(s).zip and replaced the default inf (I copied nvam.inf from original_inf(s).zip over nv4_disp.inf, replacing it completely).

Anyone try this driver on a G1S?

Let me get this straight... So I can install the 174.70 straight *without* having to do the modded inf thing?

I read 174.70 had all sorts of stability issues so I just went ahead and installed 174.60 which sound like an all around better build. I was using 174.31 up until a short while ago and had issue with driver failures while gaming.

Also my 3Dmark06 score is now @ 3725 in Gaming mode (e6700 @ 2.93Ghz and 8600M GT 512MB @ 500/450Mhz). And thus far no driver failures.
