I just bought a new Patriot Signature 4GB ram (Product ID: PSD34G13332S) and put it into my laptop on a single slot alone, but it does not work. While booting Windows up, it crash to BSOD. Is this defective? My original ram worked--it is the Samsung 4GB ram (Product ID: M471B5273CH0-CH9). I put the Samsung one in and it boots up normally. Is this ram compatible with my laptop? Thanks!

Most likely defective. Bad components are rejected by the computer. RMA-ing it would be my choice.

If it's plain incompatible with your notebook (which I have not looked into; check it on Crucial) I'd suggest just returning it and getting the right RAM.

I did an RMA today already. I just want to make sure the exchange from Newegg will not be another waste of time.
