I have a g50vt-x5 with the 1366x768 screen. Does anyone know where I could buy the 1680x1050 screen? I checked the e store already. Or if there are any other screens compatible with this notebook?

Does anyone know if as long as the connector is the same pin type and the screen is the right size, can you just swap lcds?

I've read something that said you can't change resolutions a litttle while back when I was repairing my Alienware. But that just doesn't seem to make sense to me. As long as the resolution isn't lower than what you're using it should be able to display what the video card sends it. But I can't promise you anything. I would like to hear a good answer for his also.

It should work, though I think your looking for 1600x900 res for 15.6 inch.

You can get 1920x1200 for that size I'm pretty sure. That's what I'd get if it works. Can never have too much resolution for me. For my desktop I love my 2560x1600

if ur not sure, dont post it, he can actually take that advice for granted and when it comes time, it wont work.

tell ppl "im not too sure" or something.

the LCD panel is going to be a 1920x1080 15.6" 16:9 screen if ur aiming at the highest resolution. you can know this since he has a 1368x768 res instead of 1280x800, the 16:10 variant.

Well I was pretty sure. Unfortunately I was wrong. If I wasn't too sure, I would have said I wasn't too sure, but thanks for the 3rd grade English lesson.

Why wouldnt you be able to change the lcd to get a better resolution? If the GPU suports that resolution i would think it is just swap out the lcd, hook up the cable for the lcd, put the frame back on and you are done. Am I wrong?
