Newbie here. Help with activation of X80Ne switch keys and Splendid

Hi guys. We just bought an ASUS X80Ne and the utilities and drivers that came with it seems to be for Vista 32-bit and 64-bit. I installed Windows XP SP3 and the drivers don't seem to be compatible so I downloaded the XP drivers from the ASUS site. Some like the Power4Gear, Life Frame, VGA and sound drivers, etc. worked including the hot keys but the switch keys on top for the WiFi, Splendid, Pwer4Gear doesn't work when I push them. I installed the ATK drivers already, what am I missing here? ASUS splendid also doesn't seem to work. I installed it but when I click it it doesn't start up.

 

ATK Hotkey.

 

I think I already installed ATK Hotkey abd the others like ATK Media but I'm not sure, I'll try it when I get home later. I downloaded the drivers from this site: http://support.asus.com.tw/download/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

I tried to install ATK hotkey but it asks me if I want to uninstall all compnents so i guess I installed it already. The switch key doesn't work but the Fn+ keys do. Also, is there an integrated bluetooth device in X80Ne? because I see a bluetooth key switch key but all I know is that only X80Le have bluetooth. I don't know if Splendid works or not, if I click it nothing happens but sometimes when I play a video in GOM player that Splendid logo appears in transparent form then fades away. What's wrong? am I missing some drivers? I'm also using Nvidia NForce driver.[/I]

I think ATK100 XP version driver can help but I can't find it on the asus site. I installed the vista version of the driver and it still doesn't enable the switch/launch keys. Even with the power 4 gear, WLAN, and Spledid drivers installed, the keys don't work.

have you ever figured out to fix your problems?

anyways... i also have another question, my first laptop crashed and it's an hp bundled with XP, i presume i can use the win XP for me to configure this asus x80ne... am i correct? thanks...

do u think x80ne is a good laptop? any problems experienced so far?

Try uninstalling ATK drivers completely then reinstalling all.

 

So, you should install:

ATK driver
ATK Generic Function Utility (or something along that line; older laptops do not have this so check the Vista CD whether it includes it or not)
ATK Hotkey
ATK OSD2
ATK Media (if applicable)

First make sure all this is installed. Then, as aethelbert suggests, try removing all this and installing anew.
