Hi all,
I hope someone can help me. I tried searching "microphone not working" and couldn't find anything so my apologies if this is a repost.
My laptop problem... I have a W5G00AE Asus laptop and for some reason, (don't know why), both my built-in camera AND microphone are not working. I tried to uninstall "LifeFrame" then reinstall the newer version. That simply made it worse.
Now the little "camera" and "microphone" hard buttons on the right side of the screen do not work. When I try to open LifeFrame, I get the error: "VideoCapEx MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close...."
Can someone please help teach me how to reinstall or uninstall all my stuff related to the built-in camera / microphone so it's nice and clean? I'm running the Windows XP that came with the laptop. Thanks in advance for your advice!!!
Kindest Regards,
Jay![]()

Basically, you're gonna want to uninstall any program and drivers associated with the camera or mic and reinstall them from the Asus-supplied CD. I don't have the same model as you so I can't give you detailed instructions... but that's the basic idea.
