I just checked the NHC site and noticed they are up to version 2.0 Beta 2. I am still using 1.10 Beta 1.
Any significant benefits to upgrading? What I have works fine now, so I hate to mess with it too much.

Why don't you try it and give us a report?

Well, it might have some of the ACPI controls that the older version is lacking. Plus I know you need the newer version in order for it to work properly with Core 2 machines.

I poked around on the forums for NHC, which are mostly in German. There seem to be ACPI controls available for several of the more recent, popular models in NHC 2.0. I was thinking of doing the legwork to modify the generic Asus file someone had made to work the the Z33/M5/S5 series, but I would need some information from people with the other models in order to make it work right.

Jump.. Can you rewrite the generic ACPI program for Asus models with some modification for the different systems, or provide a bit of guidance on how to modify/develop new ACPI programs for Z71V?? Am forum member, but still lost when I followed their instructions. Would like to try out tailored ACPI feature!
I got 2 pr2 (vista had problems, xp=OK) when it came out, now @ pr4. The pre-releases worked OK for me, when uninstall 1.1 b1 just save configuration. I still have pr3 on system, but running pr4 (Installed to different directory). You could probably do same, just rename existing NHC icon `NHC 1b1' specify new NHC .. folder! If not like new enhancements, ACPI, battery info etc, still have old outdated you can click on icon. One of the versions I had to reboot after making changes to settings, but now I think they all take OK 2. pr4! GL d8d
Except labels Graphics card controls were supposedly reversed in pr2 (Batt = Max Perm, AC = Lowest!), I think it is fixed now
NHC Forum; lets get more english speakers in there!!
Only problem I noticed is battery info is incorrect during charging if both main & OD bay batteries in place *!* -
There is a generic ACPI program for Asus models which seems to work with some modification with different Asus systems. I was just going to modify that to maybe work with different models
I don't know about writing modules from scratch - I have some programming experience but writing something that interacts with other's hardware kind of scares me.
Newer Notebook Hardward Control Versions?
