I recently reformatted my laptop because it kept crashing at boot so I did a fresh install of Windows XP Home. I downloaded the drivers from the website and installed most of them (some of them gave me errors), but it still says I have no sound device. I can't even access the sound panel or anything. When I press FN and the volume key it doesn't do anything.
What do I need to do? I tried looking for drivers for sound, but couldn't find any. Thanks
Also, what software do I need to download so the buttons on top work such as the Wireless and so on?

jlazz: Did you try installing all the drivers from the Drivers & Utilities CD that came with the A8Jm? The sound drivers should be in there....
The FN thing.. should be ATKCPI .. -
I could only download them from the asus website since I forgot my CD at home and I'm at college. Is there a way I can get the sound drivers elsewhere? They aren't on the website. What other drivers do I need? It seems like a lot of my things aren't working.
I can't find ATKCPI on the asus website...where can I get it? -
MilestonePC.com Company Representative
I realize that the sound driver is missing on the drivers page
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
but "ATK0100 ACPI UTILITY" still there for downloading.

actually its listed under utilities. What you want is the "UAA bus driver and audio driver"
